Cloud Band

The past week was two bets from Cloud Band, the first of which was rocked in Petrelli. On Friday at 4 p.m., we started in Petrelli with a pile of stuff that lasted about an hour and a half. I ran right into the warehouse, packed up the next set. On Saturday there was a wedding gig, so it was also necessary for PA to deliver, and I drove directly from the warehouse to erect it. After the set-up, you had a good time at home, eating and showering.

Tonight's bet at Petrelli was a familiar set, where it worked without any extra adjustments. Sometimes after one, there was another car packed up in Petrelli's stuff, and I headed home to bed.

On Saturday morning, around 10: 00, a quick stop at the warehouse and continue to build the rest of the stuff at the party place. Unfortunately, there was no instrument for a trip that could have had a little bit of a knee of PA in advance, so I decided that the two of them would be playing with the power of the head. The band came around 12: 00, and we got the rest of the chord things up, and they started to beat the Czech.

And then it started to get weird. The guitar was very orbital, especially through the singing mic, even though it wasn't even on the monitors. The rotation, or actually the chord, also occurred at a relatively low frequency (from 450 Hz and its multiples). There was also a strange ruse, especially with the audience of the song. First, I talked about mixing off the processors, and then I tried different mikes and wires, but the same problem continued. The problem was finally tolerated by heavy equalisation and ended with Czech.

This, of course, remained in the back of the head to knock on the door that there must be a reason for that, and I concluded that the last night's bet for change was only a PA, so the problem has to be because of it. Before tonight's show, I started going through PA's settings, and first of all, I noticed that there's something really weird on the other side of the bar. I reset it, put in a real setup. Then I wade the rest of the settings and realized that the active-PA input levels were really big and output levels were very small again. So, that's the problem, isn't it? I tried to input slightly smaller and, correspondingly, output larger... The party people moved to outdoor activities for a while, so we got a very quick experiment with guitar, and... No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. So we got it! 🙂 After the first set, I bet on the input level and raised the output level so that the final correction was class 15db in direction and second in comparison to the check-time. After this last repair, he was able to keep his mind on the path through the next two sets while the PA played as it should. 🙂

The show was finally very good, and tonight's atmosphere was great.
