Yeah, well, it got a year to change, before I could get to this blog with any letters. 😀
Well, in December, there were no gigs but one Fourth of July bet with Public Shame. The place was Lissun Bar Alavieska. It was all right, and there's no miracle to tell. One of the pillars stumbled right in front of PA, which was not exactly optimistic, but there are quite a few of these in many small places.
I also went to the concert to see the audience, and this was, of course, the heavy Christmas that was banged up in Oulu Hall. These gigs also have familiar old men on stage, as some might guess from the tour of Poisonblack a few years ago.
The rest of the year, a lot of studio work was done. Undark's autumn drum recordings made one single, and the other one made progress from the drum edite.
I do not remember now whether it was mentioned in previous posts that a single single was also published with the heart light project name in fact on the November side. This project had a pretty nice set of players.
In December, I also finished editing the drums of a solo project. I promised that to an artist during December, and the last piece of the six-bit set went a little tight, not until the last day of the year. 🙂
But the promise kept. 😀
Mastervox has had a night of November and December, if there's another... There's a project going on, or even bigger than a few, which will continue in the early part of the year. The Atmos mixes of this project are beginning to be finished. There's more of this, then, at some point in the '26 year.
My equipment hasn't changed much in '25. In the spring, I got the Wing Rack, and this place has been looking for its shape all year, and it's starting to look pretty comfortable. Of course, there are 8 units in size, and there is a bit heavy without rolls, so it can be that somewhere the moor is pissed off to carry it and move the debris to a bigger and roller-lined sackcloth.
The frame configuration is now so that in front of the top wireless talkback, as well as one wireless listening (this was still missing from the picture). Wireless listening because I can send myself a phone tap, even though I'm hanging around with the head somewhere in the front. Next is the half-unit ventilation gap, and then Winkula himself. Under the wing the other side of the unit ventilation and then the XLR switching panels, which are already connected from the rear side to the wincula. The panels basically have all 24 inputts, as well as 8 outputs, but the latest three of the inputes are reserved for talkback and bluetooth, which are already directly connected to these functions. The last two of the outputs are reserved for L & R use and, if necessary, the previous two sub and center, if there are any such needs. Listening outputs usually come through a load box, because there's so little of them in that wing. Oh, I wish they'd put its 16 outs directly at the design stage, because there was room for them...
At the top of the frame you can find wireless listening and antenna connections. Next is the opening section, if it happens to be necessary to make some connections. In principle, it should not be necessary when everything is already connected to panels, but that is what you have often thought.
Toiseksi alimpana on virran jako, jonka syöttö tulee Furmanin AC-240 virrantasaajasta. Alimpana on customoitu kytkentäpaneeli, jossa virran sisäänmeno Power Twistillä (syöttö menee suoraan Furmaniin). Paneelista löytyy myös kytkennät kolmelle vahvistetulle luurikuuntelulle, wlan antennille (PoE syötöllä), LAN, sekä AES50 kytkennät. Räkin sisällä on myös Bluetooth vastaanotin, sekä tarvittavat verkkolaitteet yhdellä WLAN tukarilla. Verkkolaitteissa olen siirtynyt käyttämään pelkästään Ubiquitin Unifi -tuoteperheen laitteita, jotka olen kokenut erittäin hyviksi. Vielä on harkinnassa jonkinlainen kotelotuuletin. Jotain sopivia olen jo bongannut, mutta jos satutte tietämään jonkin hyvän ja hiljaisen, niin saa vinkata. Mielellään valovirtaa nielevän, tai vaihtoehtoisesti usbi virralla pyörivä.
Valokalusto on myös kokenut pientä kasvua ja sinne on tullut lisää liikkuvia mukaan. Vanhat pikkumuvarit jää nyt jatkossa koristamaan varaston hyllyjä ja uudet pikkasen isommat pesurit & beamit hyppää keikkavarustukseen mukaan. Etuvaloa tuli myös lisää, sekä led bareja lyhyenä, että pitkänä versiona.
Valoista tarvii koodata valmiiksi kaksi kattausta, joista pienempää voi käyttää peruskeikoilla ja isommassa kun ei enää yhden universen kanavat (512 kanavaa) riitä, niin siitä tehtävä chamsysiin isompi kahden universen setuppi. Tokihan siellä on esim. etuvalot, jota voinee niputtaa samaan DMX-osoitteeseen, niin saa hieman säästettyä kanavia.
Audionin sivuston (audion.fi) backstage, eli bändeille varattu työkalupakki kehittyi myös kohtuu isosti vuoden aikana. Sain sinne koodattua aika mukavia toiminnallisuuksia, ja vastaavaa yhtä laajaa kattausta en usko yhdeltäkään musa-firmalta löytyvän, ainakaan yhdestä paikkaa.
